The Upper Canada Mercantile makes hand-woven, locally farmed wool blankets and textiles. Traditional designs are brought to life by talented weavers using soft wool that is spun at local mills and grown by passionate Shepherdesses. From farm to weaving, the entire process takes place within the bounds of a region once called Upper Canada. Each blanket is a connection to this place, its ecology, traditions and its people.
Our blankets are available in a range of natural colours and historical patterns. We source only the softest wool with unique characteristics and colours like dark charcoal grey, snowy white and chestnut browns. Working with only natural colours, our blankets are ecological, free of chemicals and traceable back to the farm and animal.
